Breast Surgery

Breast surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia and requires hospitalisation for 1 - 3 days.

Post Procedure Care

A bandage is applied to the breasts after the surgery. On the following day, the doctor removes the drains from the breasts and the cuts are sealed up by a patch that is left in place for 14 days. After two weeks the patients can remove the patches from the cuts themselves in case they cannot come for the re-bandaging. The stitches are absorbent, and they do not need to be removed. An elastic bra or special vest is worn for 4 weeks after the surgery. Pressure massages are recommended for the scars 18 days after the surgery several times per day. The patient maintains relaxed and is having a rest for a week, office work is possible afterwards. Sport activities or heavy physical activities are not recommended for period of 4 weeks from surgery.
